The Lightware Z400 Long lens 400 Case (Black) is designed to carry a Nikon, Canon or other 400mm f/2.8 lens. The case is made from ballistics nylon with fabric covered closed-cell foam, and the case is water-resistant. The zippered flip lid has a detachable interior zippered "Trap Pack" pocket to hold an SLR camera body, film, or accessories. The "Trap Pack" can be removed and there is enough room to place the lens with an SLR camera body attached into the case. There is a quick-release Fastex buckle that allows the lid to be closed without having to zip it up. There are adjustable exterior straps to hold a monopod and exterior pockets on three sides for press passes, pens and pencils, important papers, or optional detachable "Z" pockets. The lens case is carried by a cushioned handle and an attached, adjustable shoulder strap.

Z400 Long lens 400 Case is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Protection--Could Be More Pragmatic I just bought this from B&H to holster and tote around my Nikon D3 while attached to my 200-400mm F/4 VR, 300mm F/2.8 VR, or 200mm F/2 VR. The case provides fine protection, but it sure could use a belt strap as well as an extra strap to secure a monopod. (It has only a single strap for that purpose.) The shoulder strap is adequate -- it should be much better padded and more ergonomically designed though. The protection is there, but the innovative design such as that found in the Think Tank line of DSLR holsters is certainly not. It'll do the job I want it to do for my monster lenses with DSLR attached, but I was hoping for a more superior design and a more comfortable shoulder strap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from well designed case Purchased to hold a Tamron 150-600 attached to a Nikon D7100, but the case is way too big. The Lighware Z300 is correct. Good features of this case are excellent padding and a grab handle attached to the body of the case rather than the lid, so the case can be lifted even if the zipper is not closed. The grip on the handle is excceptionally comfortable. Downside features include a non-removeable shoulder strap and outer pockets too small for anything except instructions, batteries, and memory cards. A remote trigger would be a very tight fit. Because it was too big, I returned it and got a Tenba bag designed for a 300 f2.8 with camera body attached. The Tenba has outer pockets large enough to hold a small lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific Long Lens Case This lens case is superbly made and a terrific way to transport and protect long lenses. As with a previous post, I use this for the canon 300mm f/2.8 lens. Why not the 300mm dedicated version? This case for the 400mm is 4 inches longer internally and that allows me to transport the lens to a location with the camera (1D Mark III) and any tele-converters attached without needing to remove the Velcro secured, internal zipper, storage pocket. I want that protected internal pocket in place even if I have a TC and camera attached and I certainly want to avoid the necessity of attaching the lens at a dusty location. This lens case does a great job with room for flexibility of configuration. The fit is still snug but it is easy to remove the camera/TC/lens. Its water-resistant and the cushioned handle is very nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best long-lens camera case I use this for my Nikon D3 with 70-200 lens. It securely houses the rig, but more importantly, allows for quick and fuss free removal so it's ready for action. This is a really well made, well designed, and useful piece of equipment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice to take lens and cam attached. I use Z400 to take D300 Sigma 2xTC and Sigma 120-300 attached to the beach. I' ve been looking for a bag not too big that would have room for the gear. I' ve choosen Z400 by specs size and fits ok.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy I actually use this case for a 300 2.8 and it works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even the Canon 500mm f/4 L IS fits! Initially, I purchased this for its designed purpose..... a 400mm f/2.8. Having found that lens too heavy for my liking, I traded it for the lighter 500mm version. Surprisingly, this case fits the new lens quite easily, without removing the zippered compartment in the top. Naturally, it won't take a 1D series body as well, but that's what the 600mm version of the case is for. Beautifully made product, but needs a better shoulder strap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this again I carry my Nikon 400 2.8 in it and it has room left over to carry a rain cover and my foul weather gear. Also comfortable to carry on shoulder or handle.
