  • Anti-reflection lens coatings help to improve light transmission, color rendition, contrast
  • Ultraviolet protection prevents damaging UV radiation from passing through the binocular and into the user's eyes

Olympus 118755 reviews

8x40 Trooper DPS Binocular is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for family stargazing! I got these binoculars for stargazing with my seven year old son. On the first night we used them in conjunction with our telescope, we found seven new Messier objects! They view is crisp and clear, and they are great for stargazing. I was worried before I got them that I'd regret getting 8x40s and wish I had gotten 10x50s, but I made the right decision. My son can comfortably hold these but 10x50s would definitely be too heavy, and I'm not at all disappointed with the view. I highly recommend these for anyone stargazing with kids. You will find so much more in the night sky!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good binoculars Having not had any binoculars for many years, I hankered to get a pair. These binoculars turned out to be exactly what I wanted. I can use them with or without my glasses. No problem. The viewing is clear and large enough to be useful and exciting without shaking. It is good for viewing distant boats or planes or whales or sunsets or red-tailed hawks or Indian smoke signals or girls in bikinis or runaway sheep or skeedaddling criminals or fat people Zumba dancing. I tried to use them while on a moving train, but things went by too fast and I got a little sick. I do not recommend them for this. The binoculars are very solid and with proper care should last many years. There may be some people who wonder about this, but when these binoculars are focused and adjusted correctly they give one a circular field of view, and not two circles joined together like in almost every binocular scene in the movies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from wunderbar I have had Nikons I have had Bushnells. This pair of binocular's from Olympus beat them all. Fit in the Hand well. images are clear and bright and the amount of magnification is perfect to the point where you don't feel you need a tripod to keep it steady.A fabulous deal for a fabulous pair of binocular's and they got here in two days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worthy of consideration Pros - great price, very bright image, easy to focus, comes with a soft case and neck strap, good field of view, always have had good luck with Olympus camera equipment and their optics Cons - not waterproof or fog resistant but didn't expect these features at this price I'm glad I bought these instead the more common 7x35 binoculars for the same price. Will be using for bird and wildlife watching.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clear, Bright and Sharp I bought this binocs for wildlife viewing, mainly for bird watching. I am very impressed of the lens quality and ease of use. The clarity, brightness and sharpness amazed me, not to mention the under $60 price tag. I am a hobbyist wildlife photographer using a Nikon D7000 and Nikon D90 with 70-300mm VR lens. This will be a huge help in searching birds under dense trees in low light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent pair of BInoculars I like to bird watch especially the hummingbirds that fly into my yard. Have used these to watch birds I never noticed before and even butterflies. Comes with a soft case so purchasing one is not necessary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent All-Purpose Binoculars Two pairs purchased for emergency vehicles for general scene evaluation (HAZMAT) and provide great view, clarity and quality of use in a rough environment while taking up limited space in the vehicles. Also use a pair for heliport operations...again excellent quality in a small and inexpensive package.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can see clearly now, not forever but pretty far After an awful winter summer is finally here. It is time for me to trade my recliner chair for a beach chair or a lawn chair. But I also have begun a new hobby: birding. And my Olympus 8X40 Trooper binoculars (the full title is too long and my fingers are tired) are just the thing to brighten up the light in and around the leaves on the birds's homes. But just like anyone who finds a good thing they want it to do more than it is capable of. However, it does what it is supposed to do and I love it.
