  • 1Description

The Giottos M621 Quick Release Assembly is equipped with a camera plate that slides forward and back for macro positioning, and features a safety button that limits the amount of sliding on the quick release. Quick release plates are fitted into a compatible tripod's pan head or ball head quick release mechanism for easy removal and replacement of equipment.

The M621 has two bubble levels, and the plate comes supplied with removable 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 camera screws, as well as a spring loaded video pin. Two threaded holes on the side of the quick release allow for storing the unused camera screw directly on the assembly.

Comes supplied with a short (standard) quick release plate; dimensions 3.5 x 2.2 x 0.6". An optional 5.5" long plate is also available.

M621 Quick Release Assembly is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 127.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Put it on everything you own. This quick release assembly is strong, reliable, safe, and above all cheap. I can afford to put this on every single camera and tripod/shoulder rig/stabilizer I own, and with the locking safety mechanism, I never worry about the camera falling off of the rig. The construction is very nice; it is an all-metal assembly, and it doesn't feel cheap at all. The included spirit levels are also a nice touch. The included 1/4 and 3/8 mounting capabilities also provide a level of flexibility that is wanting in other quick release plates I have used. I highly recommend this product to anyone who is in need of a safe and easy method of securing their camera to their rig.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect solution! I purchased a tripod for my professional video camera, unaware that there is not a standard industry-wide sized plate for professional video cameras. The solution I was looking for was to get a release assembly that could fit the one plate on my camera so I wouldn't have to remove it and put on another one every time I wanted to secure my camera to a tripod, shoulder-mount rig, slider, or crane. After a lot of searching, this solved the problem with its perfect fit. It is a great quality and price as well. I have bought several of them for each of my mounting platforms now. This is a winner!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile and well made, The build quality is good and I really like the flip up toggle heads on the tightening screws, included with the M621 quick release assembly. The bubble level is fun to approximate level while shooting I purchased the quick release to fit a couple spare tripods. Giottos had been recommended in a photo forum and I assumed it be compatible with my Manfrotto video slider quick releases. This was not the case. My Bad for not checking specifications better. However I will probably get limited use from these assemblies and will be purchasing the manfrotto quick release plates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from M621 is a solid performer I just purchased the Canon T2i, and wanted a stable platform that was quick to disconnect from the tripod. I looked at a lot of reviews, and the Giottos M621 is as good as any of the much more expensive QR plates out there. It's very sturdy, has multiple connection options, and even has threaded holes to store the bolts you're not using. The bi-directional leveling is also a great feature. So far, I haven't found anything wrong with it, other than that it covers the battery plate on my T2i; this isn't really a con, since the M621 is a Universal plate, not made specifically for the Canon T2i. It's going to get a workout!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Product! Finally a product that exceeds your expectations. Have a scenario where I am going to need 4 to 6 quick assembly bases to speed up productivity so when your buying that many, price becomes a major factor. The mark to beat was the Manfrotto pro looking and functioning bases at $65 to $70. Searched everywhere and found one product for $17 which was substandard, so the next option was the M621 at $. Once I purchased and received the product, I was relieved to find that it looked professional, had similar features as the Manfrotto but was half the money. Its great when you take a shot at creative buying and it works out!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compatible with FM18 I bought the M621 because I was looking for a quick release system that would be interchangeable with my FM18 fluid head. The M621 works great, is well designed and manufactured with lots of options on configurations. They are fully interchangeable with the FM18. If I have, for instance, my slider on my FM18. The slider is attached to the FM18 using the plates that came with the fluid head. Then I have my camera attached to the slider using the M621. I can pop the slider off the FM18, pop my camera off of the M621, then attach the camera directly to the fluid head, all within a moment. No issues. I bought 4 of these, so that I could have the same quick release system on my slider, jib, gimbal and fluid head. I suggest this because they are just so affordable. Why not?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I own 5 of these I shoot video using F3 and EX-1 cameras. I use the M621 to have a consistent quick release system on my tripod, monopod, on a rails system when I need it and on a head reserved for a slider. This allows me to have only one plate (I use the long one) on the camera body and instantly switch to any other mounting system. Very similar to the Manfrotto system, Either is far far cheaper than the more expensive mounts from other manufacturers, and it has been stable enough for my needs. I have done some grinding down on the handle to accomodate different platforms.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for the price, nothing special I bought 7 of these to put on all of my gear, tripods, sliders, cages, and being $ bucks a pop they do great however they are far from perfect. The paint or Finnish makes it hard to slide them on unlike the manfroto counterpart, however I have read this get better with time. Also the tightening knob is MASSIVE and makes for a cumbersome way of securing my camera on my cage and glide cam (anything that has a stage that exceeds the width of the plate. This all being said I prefer to work with the qwerks then spending hundreds on little plates that in the end do not make or break the production. Give them a try
