Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not What it used to be This used to be one of my go to items when I worked in news a decade ago. In a pinch it served as an umbrella holder, a boom pole mount, a backlight arm holder, corner support for a lighting grid... you name it. I had several of these in my grip case ready to go. Unfortunately, things aren't what they used to be. The machining of the new KG grips is sub-par. On first use, the internal thread for the tension arm was stripped. I was just trying to mount a K-Tek boom pole. Thinking I just had a bad egg, I grabbed the second (new) one I had in the kit. SAME problem. Barely any tension and the inner threading stripped. Two useless $ Grips.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid this product As you can see from the reviews, this product ucksas. I ignored the reviews and learned the hard way. The product arrived with the screw stripped, meaning that you cannot tighten it into place no matter if you spend the rest of your life turning it. On top of that, product is ugly, heavy, clumsy and falls apart. It is possible to lose the handle. The worst Lowel product I have ever come across in 30 years of using their equipment. A complete disgrace that they have received bad reviews and have not done anything about it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad product Got one of these in Lowel's kit for the boom they sell. Stripped out on second attempt to use it. Didn't even tighten down on it that hard. I figured I'd got a bad one or I did something wrong, but seems like others are having same issues. Don't get this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Grip, but needs to be better quailty! I like working with these Lowel grips more that c-stands and grip heads. Its a lot more versatile. only down side to these grips is you can strip the tread if your not careful. Also you can't buy replacement parts from Lowel for these grips........

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Useful, essential tool Very strong grip for supporting a back light using the Lowel half pole (or full pole). It can also be used to hold an audio pole. Be sure to get the Lowel 5 lb. counterweight to balance the weight of the poles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy duty and durable I have been using 2 of these for years to hold 7ft umbrellas each equipped with 3 speedlights, attached to 6ft tall speaked stands. Heavy duty and durable. I definitely recommend them.
