The Matthews Super Mafer Clamp with Baby (5/8") Pin is strengthened to withstand greater clamping pressure than any other clamp of its kind. The protective pads in the jaws have also been reformulated for better gripping action.

This Super Mafer Clamp includes a snap-in Baby (5/8") Pin, which is suitable for mounting many different fixture and grip items.

The Baby pin mounts securely -- it has a hex end that fits into the clamp's receptor

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Mafer out there Slightly less useful than the Manfrotto Super Clamp in that it doesn't have the 1/4 20 threading on the end of the pin, nor is a wedge included. BUT the longer Matthews pin makes for an easier and more workable connection with a fixture, and the Manfrotto wedge can easily be purchased seperate and used with the Matthews Mafer. The biggest factor, though, is how extremely well-built this Mafer is with its all metal parts and heavy industrial feel. These are the first Mafers I reach for and are sure to be in my kit for a long time to come.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Clamp Weak Material Great strong clamp, holds up my boom pole on a stand for interviews, holds up 60 lb paper backdrops, lights, etc. It worked great for about a year. Until I dropped it on to a concrete floor and it shattered (breaking of the clamp into three pieces). It feels like a light aluminum or some other alloy that is just too brittle. I want to buy another but I'm trying to find one made out of steel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't get Enough of these!!!! I have seven of these clamps and I absolutely love them. They have a nice heft and are of solid construction. The shape of the handle makes it extremely comfortable and easy to grab, whether doing 1/4 or half turns. There is almost no effort is needed to tighten them, but the ratio of effort-to-tighten-to- actual -grip strength is incredibly large. I'm an independent filmmaker, so these Mafers are perfect for scenes located in kitchens, garages, and where ever there are cabinets. I have also used the threads at the bottom to secure them to a pair of tripods to hold my DIY slider and as stoppers for my DIY dolly track. (which I'm looking to buy real ones eventually.) Each time I use them, I discover a new use for them. Overall, these Mafer clamps are worth the buy. Thanks Again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Simply useless I had lot of expectation from this clamp; that's why I moved to this clamp over Manfrotto super clamp ... VERY WEAK over a pole or a boom ....even after maximum tightening of the knob .... the design of the tightening knob itself is small and difficult to tighten securely. Don't buy this product; If you really need to hold something on a boom/lightstand etc... you cannot be wrong with MANFROTTO super clamp ... again, I fell into the disadvantage of buying online without been able to see the actual product !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy Heavy Duty Look, it's a Mafer clamp, and you can eject the pin. Screw it onto anything, and it stays put. When you find yourself in a strange place with limited places for stands, this clamp can be a life saver. Have two in your kit just in case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everyone should have 2 If you need to mount stuff to other stuff, then you should have at least one, but better to have two of these in your kit. The clamp gives you a solid lock to any table, support bar, beam or even onto existing C-stands. Then you can mount your lights or other gear to the standard 5/8 pin. Super sturdy and super useful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from inventor of the mafer clamp heads up! Mathews may have manufactured the mafer clamp. but my father invented it . he was young at the time and didn't patent it. he made one at a rental house he worked at and mailed it to them. they made it. infact,, billions of them.and no...they gave him nothing for his idea! my dad should be rich right now...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Serious Clamp If you're looking for a heavy duty clamp for studio use, this one is well made and ready to handle serious weight. Turns out to be more clamp than I need for my modest lighting setups, though I plan to hold onto it just in case.
