Lowel T1-30 reviews

Tota-Clamp is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact and versatile Very compact, allowed me to attach an Omni light to a bookcase in a crowded and cluttered New York apartment without having to deploy a stand and add to the clutter. Nice geometrical options. I did have to use padding to avoid damaging the bookcase. I know the primary use is advertised as an attachment for light stands but it works this way as well. This is for lighting, not sound.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the price I use this clamp for hanging smaller lighting units when shooting on location. Sometimes I need a light to be in a position where a stand won't work, but there's something for the clamp to bite. I like how the baby pin can be positioned two ways, great little feature. This clamp definitely isn't as strong as a studded C clamp or a Cardellini, but I have no problem hanging anything under around 10 lbs from it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Broke within two days I bought this for a shoot which required mounting two tota lamps on a c-stand. The quality of the clamp was very cheap. The base of the threaded bolt is attached only with some light soldering to the clamp itself and as I was tightening the clamp the soldering failed. Also, the disk at the top of the threaded bold is not attached to the bolt at all and is easy to lose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have for on-location lighting I recently had to shoot a video in a martial arts dojo. Parts of the dojo were fairly dark. Bodies flying through the air argued strongly against placing light stands in the corners. I used two of these clamped on to pipes on the ceiling to support 2 tota lights. They held the lights securely though a very active martial arts demonstration. Highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for traveling Unlike most Matthews-style grip clamps this Lowel clamp is both light and compact. Great for airline travel. It won't clamp to a pipe easily, but great for tables, door frames and other rectangular surfaces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tota-Clamp review We've now used this Tota-Clamp on a couple of film shoots for putting up lights. It serves its purpose quite well, and we've not had a problem with it yet!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap plastic We use these to mount our lights on a beam. The cheap plastic broke on one of them.
