The Coronado CEMAX 2x Barlow Lens doubles the magnification of any 1.25" eyepiece to increase the usability of the eyepiece without affecting exit pupil, eye relief image or overall image brightness. While it may be used for conventional nighttime astronomical observation, it has been designed primarily for use at H-alpha (Ha) wavelengths with fully multicoated optics tuned to ensure maximum contrast when used with Ha solar filters.
This Barlow lens is not a filter, and when used as part of a solar viewing system, it must be used in conjunction with a blocking filter and a SolarMax filter.
