    Manfrotto 231B reviews

231B Column Stand with Sliding Arm (Black) - 8' (2.4m) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Product Manfrotto This stand is something I had been wanting for sometime now. I was able to use a different manufactures stand that is very similar at the After Dark Conventions I have attended the last 2 years. I really like that fact that I can angle my huge 4x6 softbox and it does not fall over. The ease in the operation of the height adjustment is great and the fact that it has wheels is even better. Before this lightstand I became very lazy to move my main light for different patterns and to flatter a certain pose or side of a clients face. With this light I find myself moving it all of the time to flatter my clients. Great job and from my favorite company Manfrotto.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Newborn Light Stand We needed to have a heavy duty light stand that safely supports our 36 x 48 rectangular and 60 octagon softbox's very close to the floor vertically. None of the heavy duty light stands allowed for positioning softbox's this low vertically. Also, we weren't sure if this Manfrotto 231B would work since our ceiling height in our studio is limited to just under 8'. However, by not installing the top section of the vertical pole, this stand fits in our studio and is a perfect height needed for adjusting the softbox near the floor when photographing newborns.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, Flexible Stand I love how high or low this stand allows me to get the light. And, the position can be changed quickly, without a lot of fuss. Like someone else who reviewed this item, the pole was too long for my home studio. I cut it down to size with a hack saw. Once cut, I was able to pop out the end cap from the excess stubby piece. I put it back into pole, and it fits just great. I love, too, how this stand easily rolls and is quite stable, even when my Elinchrom monolight and softbox are mounted. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What I have been looking for The sales guys at BH put me onto this, I have needed a quick adjusting light stand for the studio, and this fits the bill perfectly. Usual great Manfrotto quality, it adjusts quickly and takes a fair weight. I've only had it a week and already I'm wondering how I managed without it! Manfrotto gear is definately worth the extra $s, its top quality and lasts and lasts. I've had other Manfrotto light stands for 5 years and they really hold up to the rigurs of daily professional use well

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 231B Stand W/ sliding arm The sliding arm works easily and gets low to the floor, especially nice for laying poses & children. It does have a broad leg base for positioning on the floor. This leg base does keep the stand balanced for light equipment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from makes moving your lighting a breeze! I finally found a product that makes moving my lights easy while still feeling that it's secure. Top quality, strong enough for heavy lighting set ups. The arm moves up and down effortlessly, and the wheels glide along the floor. When your in the middle of a shoot and you need to move your lights this can make all the difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why didn't I buy this sooner? I HATE using a tripod, but needed something to use for in my home studio that I can get low with for pet portraits. It's a simple concept but makes life so much easier. Wish I would've purchased it sooner!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic! Great stand! Love how the sliding arm makes changing the height of the light so effortless. You can position your light very high or very low to the ground (unlike traditional light stands).
