The 9' Manfrotto Short Wind-Up Stand is a chrome-plated steel stand with geared column and one leveling leg. Rugged and heavy duty. It combines the strength, stability and portability that is required by today's demanding professionals. Like all Manfrotto Cine Style stands, it features Universal Mounts which have both a 1-1/8" and 5/8" female socket as well as a 5/8" male stud.

Elevating sections rise 1.75 in with each handle turn.
Leveling leg allows stable positioning of load on uneven terrain.

This heavy duty stand, with casters, rarely leaves my studio. A Manfroto 425B Mega Boom is mounted to it, along with a Mola Setti beauty dish. This combination works perfectly in safely positioning the Mola Setti close to portrait subjects without getting a traditional lightstand in the way. Expensive, heavy, but does the intended job.

Am I reading the specs correctly: 50 lbds? The one and only picture does not give enough info to convey how robustly this must be made. How wide is that center column, and can someone produce a video on this so we can get a better idea if this thousand-dollar lightstand will fit a person's needs? I'm thinking about it, but I can't make a proper decision with the little info that is here.

The Manfrotto Short Wind-Up Stand (Chrome-plated, 9') (B&H# MA087NWSH) has a weight of 51.6 lbs. (23.4 kg). Its maximum payload is 66 lbs. (30 kg). The Manfrotto Short Wind-Up Stand (Black, 9') BH #MA087NWSHB is compatible with B&H # MA104 or B&H # MA104G.
