question

What's the max payload this can hold? Want to mount a C300 MKII with Canon 24 -70mm
Asked by: James
Since the Manfrotto 143N Magic Arm can hold up to 6.6 lbs, the Super Clamp holds 33 lbs and the BackLight Base can also hold up to 33 lbs, the Canon C300 Mark II and Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 II USM can definitely be held securely with this kit.

Will this support a Nikon D850 w/ 24-70 lens as a remote camera in a football match ?
Asked by: Ignacio
The Manfrotto 143 Magic Arm Kit (B&H# MA143) may be used with the Nikon D850 DSLR Camera (B&H# NID850) and Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR Lens (B&H# NI247028VR). The total weight of the aforementioned items (plus a typical remote wireless shutter release receiver, internal battery, and memory card) does not exceed the manufacturer-stated weight limit of 6.6 lbs. (3 kg).

question

Will this support a Canon 1D MK4 with a 70-200mm lens?
Asked by: Dianne O.
That setup can support no more than 6.6 lbs.If you mean the canon 5d Mark IV and lens it is about 5.28 lbs combined. It is too close to the maximum in my opinion and at the least will tip over.I would not recommend that set up with that camera and lens.

question

Will it work on Odyssey 7Q+ and Sony FS700? Or should I use another Magic Arm? Thanks.
Asked by: Christian S.
Being that the Convergent Design Odyssey7Q+ and the Sony NEX-FS700R Super 35 Camcorder both have a threading that is compatible with the Manfrotto 143BKT bracket in this kit, you can use the 143N Magic Arm with them. This would be especially good to use if you are attaching the Odyssey 7Q + to the leg of your tripod with the Super Clamp or the camera to a flat or rounded surface with the same clamp.

Manfrotto 143 vs 244? Pros/Cons of each?
Asked by: Alexander
The Manfrotto 244N has a variable friction control, so you can essentially loosen on portion of the arm while the other remains tight. If you do not need that sort of control, the 143N would have a single locking lever that loosens all the joints equally.

I can adjust the locking handle with two allen wrenches, but how do I adjust the tension at the ball joints at the ends?
Asked by: James
The ball joint tension can't be adjusted. I would recommend not placing anything over 6.61 lbs. Which is the rated payload.

All my other camera supports are Arca Swiss. Can I change this out to support that plate?
Asked by: Anthony
The clamp on the Manfrotto 143RC Quick Release Magic Arm with Super Clamp Kit is attached via a 1/4 thread. An Arca Swiss style clamp that works with a 1/4 female thread should work with it.
