Flash Frame FF200 overview

  • 1Description

The FlashFlip PF (PlatForm) features the same design as the FlashFlip, but also sports an ultra-steady platform base that allows the user to stand the entire assembly (camera, flash and bracket) up for easier access and more stability. In addition, the base also has more surface area that makes it ideal for larger cameras like medium format or digital SLR cameras.

The design of this bracket keeps the flash high and directly over the camera lens in both horizontal and vertical positions. This eliminates red-eye and unwanted side shadows. By having the flash high above the lens, shadows are cast behind the subject and are therefore not seen in the photograph.

The FlashFlip PF works with most SLR or medium format cameras and shoe-type flashes. Supplied with locking shoe and 1/4-20 flash mounts. All metal construction. Made in USA.

    Flash Frame FF200 reviews

Flash Flip PF (PlatForm) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from well built Very well built, large platform, metal mount for flash, easy to flip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product The flash bracket is sturdy and fits well on the camera. It flips easy to be able to shoot horizontally or vertical.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but Not For Me The Flash Frame Flip is a sturdy flash holder. It keeps the flash above the camera, when you want to change from landscape to portrait. It would be better if there were a locking mechanism for the flash arm. While firm, it still allows the flash to flip if you are in between shots and holding the bracket by the padded handle. I returned the bracket because flipping the flash instead of the camera, put the flash at a vertical position instead of horizontal. This threw the light illuminating the subject all to one side and made a really unflattering image.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job This was my first flash bracket. It seems sturdy, and I like the flexibility of being able to use the flash in different positions. I also like the extra wide platform at the bottom. I CAN use it with the battery grip on my Pentax K20D, which was a concern. My only minor complaint is that there is nothing included describing the best way to use it, etc. I figured it out OK, but wonder if I am missing something, as well

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Strong When I first got the bracket out of the package I was surprised at the light weight, my old bracket I was replacing was made of steel and heavy bakelite for the handle. Upon examination I found the new bracket to be well constructed and strong. Once I mounted the camera and flash it balanced nicely, felt comfortable. The flip feature is very easy to use and stays put when turned. I am going to get along quite nicely with this new bracket.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Uncomfortable to use As advertised, the flash bracket is made well. However once you flip it, the positioning of your hands at 12 and 6 O'clock to shoot was extremely uncomfortable. There are better designed units available.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The one I have tried several flash brackets and this bracket with it's wide cork base is, in my opinion (The One), your camera want rotate on the base and that can cause a lot of problems. I use a Canon 5D and I strongly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the closest to custom made I used to have these brackets custom made to the camera and flash. They sometimes allowed for attaching the power pack as well. This bracket comes the closest for my needs at this time. It is well made.
