The cold shoe for the Sony DSR 570 camcorder is not easy to get because it is an outdated series. But B&H was able to get me one. It is solid, strong and expensive.
useful for an external on camera display

It is absolutely needed if you plan to mount an external display on your Sony camera, specially if you shoot a lot placing your camcorder on a tripod. Installing is extremely easy and intuitive, just a little pricey, but you should be surprise since is common on Sony accessory, never the less, contraction quality is stunning and I didn't mind to spend few extra buck for it since I was in need.
