    Smith-Victor Apollo 2800 reviews

Apollo 2800 Medium-Duty Tripod with 2-Way Head is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with the Apollo 2800 Customized use of this tripod; it supports a 12x20 platform for my laptop as a mobile workstation, while I'm constantly moving, measuring, and drawing existing building plans. The 2 way head is tightened in a fixed position, and holds level very well despite occasional bumps. The leg clamps hold well and don't slide even with much lifting and setting. The legs spread and close together smoothly. The rubber feet are large with good floor grip, with a smart detail of twisting upward to reveal sharp pegs for rough terrain hold. Extremely satisfied and happy with this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not purchase We bought 8 of these tripods. 2 were already broke when they arrived, and were replaced, no problem. We have had two more break recently, simply falling apart, separating the head from the extender rod. The aluminum legs are perfect. Plastic parts are the weakness.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad I'm always looking for that impossible combination: a tripod small and light enough to be easy to transport, but steady enough to be useful. This one comes close. The action on the head is fairly smooth and consistent. The legs are as steady as can be expected. This isn't going to compare with a full-sized tripod for stability, but if you're using a lightweight camcorder, it isn't a waste of money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worthless for video It met my expectations for the price in terms of stability and design, but the head is not adequate for any video that requires panning. When you start in any direction, the resistance is unpredictable, and that makes smooth pans and follows impossible. If you need it for still photography, or minimal video panning in one direction only, it might fit the bill for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Tripod Ever This tripod is VERY strong. My camera is 8.6 pounds and holds it very well. It is also very tall. Its taller than me and im a tall guy. Its very easy to set up and take down. The fluid head on this tripod is the smoothest in the world.Overall this is a great tripod i would always recommend it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ease of Use This trip is stong enough to hold my camera and lenses. It is easy to set up. I find that it is not as easy to use in fash changing situations. Specially on a moving target. Best used in a studio situation or landscape photography with a stationary target.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value to price ratio. We use this for our small SD and HD camcorders, and it provides great operational value for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We would buy this tripod again. Very stable and good price. We bought two.
