Smith-Victor Apollo 2800 Reviews
Worthless for video

It met my expectations for the price in terms of stability and design, but the head is not adequate for any video that requires panning. When you start in any direction, the resistance is unpredictable, and that makes smooth pans and follows impossible. If you need it for still photography, or minimal video panning in one direction only, it might fit the bill for the price.
Ease of Use

This trip is stong enough to hold my camera and lenses. It is easy to set up. I find that it is not as easy to use in fash changing situations. Specially on a moving target. Best used in a studio situation or landscape photography with a stationary target.

question
Can this be used with a canon 60D dslr?
Yes, you can mount a DSLR on this tripod. My students do it regularly. There are two thing to be aware of, though.First, the tripod head is designed for video use, which means it lacks one adjustment usually found on photographic tripod heads: you cannot turn the camera to a portrait orientation. You can only shoot horizontal compositions, not vertical.Second is that it is a lightweight head. WIth a typical DSLR and lens, it will work just fine. If you are planning on mounting an especially large lens, you may want to go with something a little heavier duty.
