The Comprehensive/Kramer VP-1 device is a VGA to RGBHV interface; it allows computer generated video to be input through an HD-15 connector and output to 5 BNC connector RGBHV.

Conversion
The conversion allows a signal input from an HD-15 connector to be translated to RGBHV outputting to 5 BNC connectors.

This device is compatible with HDTV component video when used with a breakout cable such as the C-GM/3RVF from Comprehensive/Kramer.

When just an adapter is used attenuation happens and long cable runs are not possible; the VP-1 allows the user to select long cable lengths.
