Auralex MAX420BUR Overview

The MAX-Wall system from Auralex is a modular, interlocking acoustic treatment solution for those who don't want, or aren't allowed, to mount anything on their walls. Additionally the system is useful for the facility that serves a variety of acoustical purposes and needs to reconfigure areas. Any combination can be set-up in minutes with no tools, no adhesive and no fuss.

The MAX-Wall is very absorptive, even at low frequencies, offers great broadband absorption and is incredibly linear, with an overall NRC of 1.05. The panels are also thick enough to yield a pretty high degree of sound containment, so they can be used to set up a temporary isolation booth. While not delivering complete isolation, the set-up will provide enough containment so that one does not have to monitor using headphones.

The MAX-Wall 420 consists of four 20" x 48" x 4 3/8" panels. The set-up can be placed around a vocalist, instrumentalist or voice talent for added isolation, or control room mix position for added isolation and additional absorption and bass trapping.

These panels come with two MAX-Stands and two MAX-Clamps.

Mobile, absorptive and expandable system designed to be affordable and adaptable for those who don't want, or can't set up a permanent studio or for those on the go
Wedge-cut interlocking Studiofoam panels
Set-up takes only a few minutes and requires no tools and no adhesives
Class B flame retardancy
Will not crumble with age

I like this set. this is my 3rd purchase over the past few years. I've also been able to see how this pieces in this set revolved. the 2 clamps and 2 stand are smaller and have been getting smaller each year. The foam seems smaller but side by side, their the same sizes. I also notice what looks like more glitter on the new ones.

Good sound but clamps aren't effective

We use the MAX-Wall in a corporate environment to make a small office into a voice-over recording area. We were getting a lot of reverb and echo in the room and this product, along with some sound blankets positioned behind the performer, eliminated those problems. The clamps that it comes with are intended to allow you to position the foam panels higher up on the stands to be more suitable for a performer that is standing up by clamping to the MAX-Stands below the foam to act as an anchor. The clamps tend to slide down the extended pole under the weight of the foam panels and require frequent repositioning. My advice would be to buy the foam separately and use regular mic stands and some simple C clamps or locking pliers from a hardware store to keep the foam in place. ...

question

Are the MAX Stands height adjustable? I need the bottom edge of the sound absorbers to be about 3 feet off the floor.

You may calculate your actual shipping options/order totals by adding the items you want to a shopping cart. It will then list the shipping options, descriptions, ETA's and fees to your location.
