both units rusty but wouldve been great otherwise
disappointed both the first unit i ordered and the replacement were covered in orange-red rust on the inside. it wouldve been perfect, as it clamps low enuf to use on my matthews kit lightstands w their shorter baby pins (the impact keygrip 90degree baby adapter bites too high to lock properly on the matthews kit stands). and its super lightweight which is great. but rust is apparently "gear cancer" and can spread from an accessory like this to your cstands and basically ruin all of your equipment. so back in the box it goes. if i could buy a new unit that wasnt covered in rust inside i would bcoz it works well otherwise
A practical accessory for the studio
This adapter fits a need if you want to place a studio light in a hanging position rather than at the end of a standard baby pin. I do it because the screw base on my lights often rotate under their own weight when they are attached at the end of a boom arm, particularly with a medium or large modifier attached. I deducted one star because the finish on the item was less refined than I expected for the brand. The screw inside the sleeve is quite rough and will scratch up whatever surface it is tightened on. Also, the welds look a bit rough, although I'm sure they are solid.
