This product will be used to make transparent enlargements of digital files for contact printing. It is used with an ink jet printer, but only the dull side will work. Run as glossy paper and print on the dull side.

Great product overall

I used these sheets in making light boxes. I loved the finished product, though I had to bump up the contrast a lot in photoshop to get my images to look the way they did on the screen. The only other problem that I had with the paper was that at the edges the paper sometimes flaked off, making it a problem if you want to print to the edges.

Interesting for experimentation

I bought this to make prints for hanging in a window, with glass on both sides. It's no fault of this paper, or whatever I should call it, but the tones aren't saturated. Duh. How could I expect saturated colors when the light from the back is coming through what amounts to a diffusion screen? So, I'll stick with muted, dreamy images with this material. I do believe it does exactly what it the manufacturer says it will do.

Great product!!

The product worked well with my Brother inkjet printer. The color saturation was good, even without enhancing the originals. Unfortunately, when I attempted to use a commercial operations color laser printer, the color saturation was not nearly as good.

Couldn't get the results I expected.

Perhaps I never got the settings right on My Epson P800 printer but I was never able to get sufficient density and saturation to keep the print from being very washed out, especially when backlit. I used the recommended settings I received from Inkpress for my printer (with OEM Ultrachrome inks) - ICC profile for Epson 4880 and Premium Glossy Photo Paper - with the stated result. I have to say I got a quick friendly reply when I requested the settings. I tried playing with the image in Photoshop to get better results and tried different profiles and printer settings for the P800 but never got anything approaching the quality of the print on Epson Ultra Premium Photo paper. I found the paper print in the light box worked so well I didn't pursue a better print on the Inkpress Backlight Film so perhaps it is possible.

question

This backlight paper is listed as 7 mil. on the cut sheet and 4 mil in the spec. what is the factual mil thickness?. Thank you
Asked by: Mark J.
The package I bought cites 7 Mil. I put a very tired micrometer on a sheet and I'd say that is correct. Certainly closer to 7 than to 4 mil.I have to add that I was never able to get reasonable saturation or density in my prints (SureColor P800 with Epson pigment ink. I got a far better result printing on glossy paper (without watermark on the back) and backlighting that. I don't remember if I put the ink side in or out.
