    Samson SAMB1 reviews

MB1 Mini Boom Stand is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from May need rigging I bought this to clear space on my desk occupied by a Samson GTrack USB mike that I use daily on a computer interface. At the price, I am not complaining, but only 3 stars because the counterweight is way too light for the Samson mike which is a bit lame.... it would be fine for a light weight microphone and at the price I am OK with rigging extra counterweight myself. So this is just a heads up for prospective purchasers using anything heavier than lightweight shotguns or may need extra stabilising depending on your application.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and works very well I use this stand on my desk to mount my shock-mounted condenser mic above and behind my PC monitor. It's the perfect height for the job and is quite stable and sturdy. I can't comment on durability as the microphone is rarely moved, but for my use case, it performs perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not so mini boom! ,We are writting from SystemsTwo recording studios,a state of the art grammy and platinum record winning studio. These stands are very well made.We have twenty of them and use them daily. It says its a mini boom but the boom can extend high enough to use as a regular height mic stand. The base is heavy enough to use with almost any mic. This is also the best price around with free shipping its a real bargan.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from maybe not The metal on the shaft screwing into the base-plate is too thin. They snap off at the base. We have had 4 to break like this. It is a shame too because, otherwise, it is the perfect short boom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most stable low-profile mini boom used This is the most stable low-profile mini boom I have used. It's really sturdy. We are using this as drum kick mic stand and electric guitar cabinets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good sturdy, adjustable boom stand This is a good solid boom stand for when you don't require a floor model. The base is heavy and solid with no desire to let the stand fall over. It can be adjusted for height, angle and length of boom. It adapts to a regular height table or higher shelving. In my recording space, the shelf is above waist level but it's no problem to adjust and have the microphone pointing downward to bring the microphone to the appropriate height.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect desktop computing accessory For my speech recognition software, I need my Sennheiser microphone two inches from my lips. The MB1 keeps all the hardware away from my workspace but quickly allows me to slide the microphone to my mouth from about 16 inches away near the back of my desk. Easily adjustable to almost any angle. I subsequently bought a second one for my home as well. Set up took less than two minutes.
