The Rane SR 3 Smart Remote Control isn't a replacement remote for your TV or DVD player. It's a wall-mounted device that's meant to be permanently installed by an audio/video/home automation technician. It's typically installed as part of an advanced home automation system or in a professional venue like a theater or meeting room complex.
The SR 3 features a 31-position LED indicator, rotary data encoder with integrated push switch, and a 98 x 64 pixel monochrome LCD screen with a programmable backlight. Up to 16 images are stored locally in the SR 3 as bitmap pages and automatically recalled to correspond to different system modes.
You can create your own bitmaps (.bmp files) using a graphics program, such as Microsoft Paint, or use any of the images installed automatically with Rane's free downloadable Drag Net software. The included font RaneSR_3 contains a number of useful audio/visual symbols, and is automatically installed. Each SR 3 ships with four faceplate inserts: white (w/ black logo), white (w/ almond logo), almond (w/ black logo) and black (w/ white logo).
The SR 3 is compatible with Rane's RPM 22, RPM 44 and RPM 88 programmable microprocessors.
