question
Does this also work to split the line level connection coming from a sound board so I can feed two cameras?
The manufacturer of the JIB/Y, Galaxy Audio, does not recommend it be used to split a line level signal. Alternatively, you may consider the Whirlwind LBS; B&H# WHLBS.

question
Could you let me know the HS-Code for this product?
We do not have this code. Please contact the manufacturer directly.

what advantage does this have over a Y cable?
what advantage does this have over a Y cable?
The construction of the box is more solid and wiring on the box is internal so it's protected from breakage and more durable than a basic Y-cable. Additionally, the JIB/Y also has phantom block circuitry that prevents phantom power from coming back into the splitter from the equipment the box is connected to. Phantom power can damage certain microphones so the JIB/Y offers protection from damage that can be caused by phantom power.

Well this product seems very interesting, I have a doubt to be cleared. I am planning to record from a microphone to two different recorder. Both of them have Phantom power. Will I be able to block phantom power to one recorder and supply phantom from only one providing to microphone as shown in the picture? Will the audio Quality will be the same. Actually one is recording with full effects and eq and another one is for just RAW vocal as backup and further processing if needed.
The only recorder that the phantom should be on is the one the mic is plugged into. Then feed the other recorder with the phantom block output.

Do I need a splitter to convert one microphone ...
Do I need a splitter to convert one microphone input into a two microphone amplifier input?
Yes, you would need a splitter like this, just make sure you have enough mic cables (3) to make all the connections.

question
Does the signal come out in stereo?
No, this is a mono input to two mono outputs... its a splitter. The primary purpose is to isolate phantom power from a mixer, which it does. Ideally it would also break ground loops, which it doesn't.

question
If I plug a phantom power mic into the input and the mic is receiving phantom power from a pre-amp on the other side of the unit through output 1, will the signal of output 2 be the same level as output one? In other words, both outputs would be outputting an identical line level as the mic is already getting its power from output one? Thank you.
I haven't actually tested to see if the levels are exact, but they are both similar at least. I use the phantom powered signal to go directly into my DAW for a dry vocal and the other signal goes through a small reverb unit so I have a bit of reverb that I can hear on my vocal as I'm singing. It just seems to help me as I sing. Both signals are good strong signals. I really like this unit, especially for the price. Hope this helps.
