From 1948 to 1976, Ansel Adams produced seven portfolios, each a limited edition of ten to fifteen signed photographic prints. Portfolios of Ansel Adams reproduces all ninety of these superb images, including many of Adams' most famous landscapes and some remarkable, less familiar, portraits and architectural studies.
The Portfolios of Ansel Adams was first published in 1977. In 1981 the book was reissued with new laser-laser-scanned separations of all the images, and then reprinted under Adams' personal supervision. The typography of Adams' own introductory texts to the portfolios was, however, faithfully reproduced.
