Panasonic AW-E350 Overview

The Panasonic AW-E350 is the 1/3-inch 3-CCD version of the convertible camera that fits into a comprehensive system to fill a variety of remote production and industrial needs. The camera uses advanced digital noise reduction technology and a 12-bit DSP for very clear and ultimately true-looking video. Its custom color matrix and detail correction features allow you to get the special quality images required your individual production requirements. Additionally, low light capability is simply amazing.

The heart of the convertible system is the addition of optional feature cards. One optional adapter card converts the camera to a very high quality analog studio camera ready for a large viewfinder. There is a studio card that will output SDI video also. Another option is for using the camera on remote pan and tilt head. Full zoom and focus control in addition to pan and tilt functions are remotely controllable. Many of the analog video outputs that were previously optional on the older models are now standard. Completely new to the AW-350/650/655/750 cameras is the option of installing 2 cards for even easier, faster convertibility.

Great Low Light Capture
This feature is among the most significant upgrades from the previous convertible camera's capabilities. In conventional 30 frame per second modes, the camera can produce detailed images with only 0.015 Lux (at f/1.4) with gain-up. In special industrial, medical or other scientific applications a frame accumulation mode can be used. This allows single frames to accumulate light over the time multiple frames would advance. The camera can accumulate light to a single frame over 2 seconds. Panasonic says that sensitivity increases to 0.00015 (15/10,000) Lux.
Several Remote Control Options
One reason the AW-E350 is so versatile is that it interfaces with a number of pan/tilt controllers and remote control units. The AW-PH300A, a pan/tilt head, is for indoor applications and is very smooth, quiet, and fast moving. The AW-PH600 is an outdoor pan/tilt head. It works with the AW-CH600, an all-weather camera housing. Special power supplies, switchers, and joy-stick controllers all integrate to complete systems for various production solutions.
Studio Configurations
The AW-E350 and E650 are economical solutions for small to medium sized studio configurations. With the addition of the AW-PB305 card the cameras can output to a studio viewfinder and work with intercom and tally systems. Most analog video outputs including component are now built into the camera without the need for optional cards. These additions give great utility for CCTV, Cable TV, educational and other cost constrictive productions. The AW-PB506 gives studio configuration with SDI output. This board includes the studio VF mounting bracket.
Video Look Adjustments
Pedestal, black level, gen-lock, phase, gamma and other setup functions are adjustable for different shooting environments and post-production requirements.
Custom Menu Functions
The AW-E350 allows for the user to adjust settings based upon the shooting scenario. Gain, shutter, white balance, multiple detail settings are adjustable for the optimum custom picture quality.
