The Davis and Sanford QRFM18 Quick Release Plate is a long plate that fits the FM18 head, and features a rubberized surface, with adjustable 1/4"-20 camera screw and video pin.

A quick release plate can be kept attached to the camera's base and allows the user to quickly and easily attach or remove the camera from the tripod without having to waste time fumbling with the threaded mount.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great plate...but... The D&S tripod with the FM18 head is GREAT for the money...but... The plate is too long, in that, it covers my battery (Sony HDR SR-11) release tab which means I have to remove the entire plate to change batteries. That wouldn't be so bad IF the mounting screw had a D-ring!! You need to use a coin or screwdriver to remove the plate. I have replaced the OEM screws with D-ring screws from Sunwayfoto. They work but the Sunway screw is a tad shorter than OEM and the head of the Sunway screw is larger than the OEM which means that the plate will only slide in from one direction. A D-ring and shorter plate option would make this a 5 star for me ! My solution will be to incorporate a Manfroto type QR system.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for the money Got these extra plates so that I could adapt several things to my FM18 head on my tripod. It is good quality and functions as expected; however, I have also added quick disconnect manfrotto type devices to the plates so that I don't have to slide the plate out of the head when using my cameras. I use the plates alone for my jib and other accessories.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Mounting Plate I have three of these for my tripod so I can leave them on my cameras. They are especially helpful for taking a camera on and off of a steadycam rig so that you don't have to balance it every time. It does take a bit of muscle to get it in there because it is a metal on metal connection and the metal isn't the smoothest. But it's hefty and sturdy and trustworthy. There's also a loss prevention mechanism to prevent your camera from falling off of the tripod if you forget to lock it down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick Release Mounting Plate for FM18 I purchased a second QR plate for my Pro Vist tripod. Since I use at least two cameras to shoot weddings, having QR plates available to mount on several cameras gives me the flexibility I need. Great product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great accessory I bought this plate for an excising tripod to mount my dslr on for shooting photos and videos. The plate is very well made, the only problem is it doesn't get tight meaning the screw part is too long for the mounting hole at the base of the camera this can be solve with a thin piece of wood with the correct size hole in it though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Is What It Is If you are buying this, chances are you already have the FM18 head and know all about this mounting plate. It is sturdy enough and mounts rather nicely to the head; although it can stick a bit at times, and all you need is a bit of grease to solve that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and easy I've owned a set of Davis and Sanford sticks for several years now. While on a shoot, the plate was mixed up with someone else's and lost. Naturally, I didn't want to buy a whole new tripod, so I was ecstatic to find this replacement plate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plate Never Fails Having gone through more plates than I would like, this head has yet to fail me. I always try to use it for all versions of Davis & Sanford sticks and it always delivers.
