I ordered this and the Matthews 6" pin with collar. How can I mount both an Aputure 60X light AND umbrella light modifier to this at the same time?
Asked by: Michael
The Matthews pin would insert into the grip head on the end of the arm first. If using an umbrella adapter, that would fit over the pin. The top of the umbrella adapter should also have a 5/8" pin to accept the stand adapter of the Aputure LS60X.

The correct diameter of a Baby Pin is 5/8" and yes it will fit. There are two standard pin sizes, Junior and Baby. Junior is 1 1/8", Baby is 5/8"

what weight are these rated for while boomed?
Asked by: Matthew
Matthews does not list a specific support weight for the Matthews Hollywood Head and Arm - 40" - Black. In general, arms like this are made for flags and small lights. Also, it is best to not go over 5 lb. In addition, depending on the weight of the item, you will need to use a counterweight.

question

What pin or stud could screw into a light stand so that the whole base of the Matthews arm fits down on the pin? The light stands I have fit only partway up the Matthews arm hole, leaving the arm a bit unstable. I've tried a couple of pins that don't work because they have a part of the pin that is too wide to allow the arm to go all the way down.
Asked by: Brian
If your stand ends in a 1/4-20 I would suggest a 7000 baby pin that would screw on top.

question

What is the maximum load rating of this arm?
Asked by: Yi Fan C.
It's suppose to handle up to 22lbs. when attached to a Matthews C Stand. I've never put that much weight on the arm. Most I've put is an Arri 1000 watt fresnel with scim and flag that were around 13 lbs. total. Held it great for a long evening shoot.
