    Matthews 387402 reviews

Revenger Light Stand (10.6', Black) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality inexpensive stand In searching for a stand for a monolight, I chose this Matthews model as the best trade-off between quality and price. I compared it in person to all the standard brands B&H has in-store, and I felt that it offered a slightly higher level of finish (hollow but capped legs, decent tightening knobs) as compared to other the offerings from other quality brands at the same or higher prices. It's also rated for a little bit more weight, which I hope means that it's a bit more trustworthy when I add modifiers and a sandbag. Make no mistake: it's not a replacement for a c-stand or the like. But it does cost half as much and is much more portable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from An excellent cheap stand I think overall of this, is an excellent stand compared to its price ratio. It is well built, and i never expected that. I use it on a Mole Richardson 3081 and it holds it steadily.. Though i must recommend you to use sand bag. I think it is a good stand for the price, it is really cheap compared to other stands I used which are total crap. Would I recommend this to a friend?! Probably yes for a cheap temperory solution, but I'd consider getting probably a more rigid and heavier stands in the next purchase I make. I respect the quality compared to its price. Very neat. Though i really hoped the knob were larger and more sturdy, but I guess that would have increased the total price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice lightwieht stands, I needed two light weight stands for taking on location. My 25 year old wheeled studio stands are great but very heavy. I was also concerned about the footprint as I often shoot full length and don't like retouching the bottom of the stands. Another concern was weight capacity. I ordered these based comparing specification and prices. I used these with 2 mono lights and 42 umbrellas and I have taken them on 2 location shoots. They seem to be up to the job. I have some worries about the locking system holding up over the years but time will tell. For now the are exactly what I wanted.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good stand for the price My old background stands were starting to literally fall apart so I purchased a pair of Matthews Revenger stands to replace them. For the price, they're good stands. They aren't the tallest, lightest, best built, most compact or sturdiest, but at their price point they are probably at or near the front of the pack on all fronts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from much better than a cheapie stand, but not perfect. Like some others have said: for its height, weight and construction, this is a pretty good stand at this price point. Much, much better than a lot of the discount options out there. All around pretty decent construction, though not heavy duty by any means. Stand itself is lightweight aluminum, but knobs are unfortunately plastic. At this price, you're not likely to get all metal hardware on any stand though. I'm happy to put a speed light all the way up on this stand (provided that sandbags are in use), and strobes with lightweight modifiers don't pose a problem either (though I would hesitate to max the stand's height out with a strobe all the way up, honestly). I would NEVER put a boom on this thing though - too much cantilevered weight might bend the poles from what I can tell. Don't push it. All and all, a good purchase for the money, for my purposes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use this as a GoPro rig stand Using this light stand as a GoPro rig stand. If you're shooting on a flat surface this is a much less expensive solution than something like a ninja pole. This isn't the most amazing stand, but for $67, it's works well for us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good basic stands Needed to get a couple of these for a basic interview shoot with litepanels and for use as a mic stand. Great stands, good price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small but big Usual average lightstand size but opens a little taller than most others it's size.
