Matthews Mattbounce Overview

This is a reversible Matthews 8x8' Matthbounce White/Black Fabric with grommets designed to be tied to a Butterfly/Overhead frame.

For many years, only the basic materials were used such as scrims to reduce light, silk to diffuse light and solid to eliminate light. More recently many new materials have been added to allow many degrees of diffusion (grid cloths, black silks, etc.) plus many new reflective materials are now available to make large reflectors for both sunlight and artificial light such as Matthflectors and Grifflectors.

question

Does this only have grommets (reinforced holes) at the corners? I assume it has more running down each side? From the picture it does not appear to have grommets close together. Is this just a poor picture example?
Asked by: Jim
Our 6x6 have grommets on the corners as well as along the edges.

question

Curious if the Matthbounce in the name refers to this item being Matte (ie not shiny)I attempted buying one of these in the past, but I received a shiny fabric instead.I felt I received the wrong item and received a Grifflon instead. I really want the Matte version rather than shiny version and am apprehensive to purchase in case I receive another shiny one?thanks
Asked by: Dion
The Matthews Matthbounce white/black fabric is not matt. The name Matthbounce does not stand for matt but Matthews BounceIt has sheen to it. It is not what I would say glossy but is not matt. More of a luster finish.

How does this Matthbounce Black/White Compare to ...

How does this Matthbounce Black/White Compare to an old style Griff in terms of the glossiness, or specular properties of the white bounce? More glossy, more matte?
Asked by: Tomash
The Matthbounce does not have a glossy look to it, it is a matte surface. It is also not as stark white as the Grifflon having a slight touch of cream tone in it to avoid bouncing hot spots. The Matthbounce is a lightweight fabric unlike the heavy plastic material found in the Grifflon.

Trying to decide between this and the TRP Ultrabounce. I understand the latter is the original invention. Any tips?
Asked by: Jay
TRP has been around for 25 years and MSE for 38. Both are very good companies and I could not say which of these may have been made first but both would serve you well.

question

How is this different than the Black/White T55 Griff ? Is one waterproof and highly reflective and the other not?
Asked by: James
Math Bounce is not water prof like a grif. Math bounce has a flat black while grif is shine black.
