The MM-BSM-8 from Microphone Madness is a pair of high-quality ear-worn stereo microphones. They can be plugged into portable digital recorders, mini-disc recorders, and video cameras (with mini-plug microphone inputs). The omni-directional stereo microphone capsules pick up sound evenly in every direction, ideal for creating totally natural sounding recordings.
The microphone elements are made by Sennheiser, one of the most respected brands in field recording. Not only are you going to capture excellent sounding audio, you're going to do it inconspicuously. With the form-factor and appearance of normal in-ear headphones, the MM-BSM-8 don't look like microphones at all. The MM-BSM-8 requires plug-in power to operate. Plug-in power is a small amount of voltage (1.5 to 10 volts D.C.) that is sent from the recording device to the microphones. Many recorders and video cameras supply plug-in power, however, there are some that do not. Microphone Madness produces separately available battery modules that enable you to use the MM-BSM-8 on any recording device with a stereo mini-plug microphone input.
