question

I understand the dimensions seem to imply that the RC1048 can fit a C-stand, but does the compartment give ample room for the broken down turtle base? Thanks, JVL
Asked by: Anonymous
This case would have room for a broken down c-stand turtle base.

question

Can this survive an airport check in?
Asked by: Mark
Having traveled thousands of air miles with camera gear, I can only say that checking bags for said gear is a risk you do not want to take. I recommend a hard case for all your checked gear.

question

Do the interior dimensions given also include the long side pockets?
Asked by: Kit
I would guesstimate that the exterior side pockets are about the same as the interior and about 36-38 long.

question

Long shot, but I have to ask. Does this fit in the trunk of a 2014 Subaru Legacy with a 1620 Pelican case? After long research to find a rolling bag with hold my 47 stands, it occurred to me that I still need to fit it in my car!
Asked by: Ginger G.
I can't answer if it will fit your Subaru but I can tell you I really like this case. It holds four Manfrotto stackable stands plus a Cheetah stand and a bunch of adapters in the main compartment. I have multiple 45 umbrellas and a 3' Profoto Octi in the pockets. You should know if you are going to fill it up the width can increase substantially. I just measured mine as nearly 17 across, and I would not call it overloaded. I love rolling into a gig with all of my lighting in one bag.

question

does anyone know if this case is accepted by airline as a checked bag? Thanks.
Asked by: Kenny
I fly with this bag monthly and I've never had an issue with an airline accepting it in checked baggage. I fly Southwest Airlines a lot, and as long as it's not more than 50lbs, they've never charged me for excessive or oversized baggage. You can get a lot gear in this bag and keep it under 50 lbs.
