The 1404 Punch Factory Xciter is an optical compressor in a floor pedal form, with a "drive" and "volume" control and a LED bar that displays gain reduction.
The optocoupler used in the Punch Factory is made especially for Aphex and has unique characteristics that are unusually good for music instrument compression. The attack portion of the compressor is program dependent.
