The Toft Audio Designs ATC-2 is a two channel microphone and line amplifier, F.E.T compressor, and four band EQ that was designed by Malcolm Toft, a recording engineer and designer of the famous Trident Audio recording consoles. The idea behind the ATC-2 was to make elements of the Trident EQ and compressor within reach for any recording enthusiast.
The high-quality preamps on the ATC-2 are the same ones used in Toft Audio's acclaimed recording consoles. The compressor and EQ sections can be turned on and off, and the compressors can be linked when working with stereo signals to maintain the imagery. The ATC-2 was designed for all stages of the recording process: capturing the initial performance, inserting into a channel for further processing during mixing, and as a mastering tool adding the final touches to a mix.
