Canon TA-100 Reviews

TA-100 Tripod Adapter is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Required Equipment This plate is just like the plate for the big boys, quick release is solid and just that ... quick. It's about 1/2 the size of the full size plates that sony and panasonic use and can stay on our sachtler in its bag without any issues. We use it with a canon c-100 mk II, the adaptor plate goes onto the camera easily with the enclosed screws. We are a professional production company with over 20 years in the business and have used many pieces of equipment ... this is a required item in our books.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from TA-100 Tripod Adapter A must-have for anyone who switches from sticks to handheld constantly. My only issue with the adapter plate itself is that it isn't a bit longer (it could have been twice the length). I have it installed on a C100 and the back end has about a centimeter gap between the plate and the camera, which worries me if potentially mishandled. The camera stands on a flat surface just fine but it could potentially be that much more safer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super clever CHEAP way to integrate small Canon bodies into mixed camera situations. We generally use broadcast bodies and travel with 1 set of sticks, so this plate is a very easy way to get the C300 to snap onto the sony plate - and go back and forth between broadcast cams and the small canon. The camera-side plate fits NATIVELY on the C300, no modification necessary - includes 4mm screws to do just that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It Works Does what it says on the box. Secures the camera to required support and allows quick changing between them. I use with Steady cam, tripod and shoulder support. Very stable on steady cam, feel safe spinning camera attached with this adapter whilst setting up. Only negitive comment is that they are alittle expensive hence 4 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good This tripod mount is very sturdy and solid. Even if it doesn't say so in the description it can also be fitted on the Canon XF300/XF305 cameras. It was perfect for me since I have 2 Canon XL2 and will be buying the XF300 soon. I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great adapter I use this to attach my Canon XL-H1 to my Libec H70 tripod head. I don't really use the quick release option but I can see how it would be handy. It holds my camera very steady with no wiggle or wobble.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again and again This adapter is perfect for my camera. One thing about this adapter is you have to make sure it is very securely tightened to the tripod head to eliminate any movement of your camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great adapter I am really enjoying having these adapters, they have made having a smaller production camera just a capable as my larger format cameras.

Once the camera plate for the TA-100 is a attached to the camera, can it be used with old Sony adapter plates? (e.g. leave the longer plate on my jib and use this plate on my tripod)
Asked by: George B.
Yes, it is interchangeable with all the VCT-14's we know and love.

Does this tripod adapter come with the quick release plate? And, how does it attach to the camera itself? I don't see any images of the screws or connections to the actual camera. Thanks!
Asked by: Aaron S.
This adapter comes with the quick release plate. You will install the plate directly to cameras like the C100/C300 and the XF line up.

Is there a compatible baseplate available that I can purchase and attach to other components that will work with this quickrelease base? Something that has standard base screw attachments?
Asked by: Joshua R.
I am not sure of the exact specifications as they are difficult to find, but the baseplate that comes with the TA-100 has four small screw hole mounting points as you see in the picture and only that. No 1/4 or 3/8 options.
