Norman 812066 Flashtube for ML400, 600 Monolights - UV
Key Features
  • Replaces FQ8
This is the 812066 replacement UV coated flashtube for the Norman ML400 (810641) and ML600 (810650) monolights. Most current, professional flash heads and monolights are equipped with user replaceable flashtubes that may simply be plugged into, and unplugged from their sockets. With proper handling, these flashtubes may last for tens of thousands of flashes under normal use.

This flashtube is UV-Coated, or UV-Corrected. UV flashtubes have a yellow appearance, and they counteract the excess blue 5700° or higher output of non-UV coated flashtubes. UV Coating lowers the color temperature to 5500°, which is the color of noon daylight on a clear day.

Defective Bulb

Ordered the bulb to replace the defective bulb that came with the new norman light kit I purchased. I would have waited for the replacement bulb, but the return policy takes awhile and I needed the lights for a photoshoot. The light came in, but looked used and it was also defective. Made me push back the photoshootI haven't had the light kit long enough to really know how a working flash tube can withstand repetitive usage. So I'm really reviewing the fact that I've had to deal with two defective flash tubes, which cost me time and money. 1 star for defective bulbs

question

How many flashes is this tube rated for?

I have had one since 2004 and only had to replace it because It fell over on concrete which was my fault. My other two are still going strong.
