Chimera 2330QR overview

  • 1Description

This Chimera Quick Release Speed Ring allows mounting of Chimera, or almost any other brand rectangular softbox to the Profoto Series of flash heads.

The Quick Release Series releases the tension of the wands in the frame of your softbox, allowing it to collapse easily for breakdown, or for moving on quickly to the next setup without disassembling the box.

Quick Release Speed Ring for Profoto is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product Perfect product except yellow screws, are very easy to lost when loosen. It should have on security screws for not to drop.I recommend you don't loose screws so much. This product helps you while carrying product with car or while changing location. Quality of the materiel ,paint are perfect. It is the best that I ever seen, even better than my genuine Profoto speedrings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and Easy Set-up/Break-down I shoot artwork in multiple locations per day and am constantly on the move. These rings set up and break down very easily. They are heavy-duty aluminum with smooth rotation and rubber spring clasp fasteners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Speed Ring After using this speed ring I will never use the standard speed ring again. Setting up and taking down a soft box is quicker and easier. No more struggling to get the soft box rod into the speed ring hole.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, Sturdy, Quick Not much to say about this product other than that it does the job intended allowing quick assembly and disassembly of Chimera soft boxes. Perfect fit for my Profoto strobes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I use these with large rectangular softboxes. They are about the same price as Profoto rings, and while setup takes a few seconds longer, knock down becomes a breeze.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock solid and easy to use! I use this with my profoto kit and find it incredibly sturdy and very easy to use for standard soft boxes. I have no complaints!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sharp Edges and Screw Locks I bought this ring for profoto. It has sharp edges and corners where I could really cut the dickens out of my fingers when working quickly. Also, its time consuming to unscrew and screw in the locking knobs that hold the poles. The metal Chimera octa ring is much better; not sharp and you can set the poles so much faster. Also the Chimera rings have larger pole holes than profoto, which I like. The chimera 3x4 softbox poles fit too tightly in the profoto-made ring.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Built like a tank I have been using soft boxes/speed rings for years and haven't had much of a problem assembling/disassembling a soft box to need this expensive quick release version until recently when my standard Profoto by Chimera speed ring snapped in half (read plastic frame) when assembling my large Chimera soft box. Looking for a more robust speed ring I found this on the B&H website. It is expensive but it's built like a tank. I also purchased Chimera Single Axis Stand Adapters which I mounted to the speed rings to take the weight of the large box off from the Profoto D1 stand mount to help balance out the rig. It does a great job for it's intended purpose but is much more bulkier and cumbersome to set up that a standard speed ring. I will use these only with my large soft boxes and reserve the standard rings for the mediums and smalls.
