Avenger Roller Stand 36 Reviews

Excellent quality--but get one size larger

I really love this for the stability and ease of rolling. I put rubber chair-feet cups on each of the three very hard base tips, and that helps a lot with scuffs and worse on walls. Wheels are great. Live and learn: I realized that though the specified height of 11.8' seemed adequate for my 11'-12' ceilings, having the extra segment with the next size up, the 13.8' model, is much, MUCH easier to work with. With the larger model, I can leave the lowest segment down and locked while the other two segments go up to the approximate 11.5 feet I need for face shadows on taller subjects, PLUS, with that lowest segment still all the way down, not extended at all, I can now loosen it to pivot my light a little bit left or right. (I find the five-foot span of the base gives me plenty of stability to do this if I'm not using a boom arm and sandbag up there!) Furthermore, on this 11.8' model, while I do have enough height in my smallish studio space, for locations with a little more headroom, I'm maxed out, and that's it. I'd rather not add the weight of a boom arm for a little more reach! No thanks, been there, don't want to do that again. So, while this quality is amazing, if you have even the slightest concern that you might occasionally want more reach, go for the next size up. You'll get that reach plus the convenience of being able to swivel by just unlocking the lowest segment that has not been extended. Cheers!

This Base Roller Light Stand is used during our Air Bag deployments within our Environmental Chamber test lab. These provide a strong support and yet movable stand within the lab which in needed during the various changes and adjustments to lighting positions that are required.

Asked by: Bartosz
This stand is plenty strong for the Broncolor Para 133 or the Broncolor Flooter Fresnel.
