Nicer than plastic, but reasonably priced. Screws on like a filter would, so lens cap may no longer fit, but with a UV filter in place, you don’t need a cap. The hood is securely attached without the need to overly tighten.

I have a Nikkor 24-200 zoom lens. Will this hood cause vignetting at the shorter focal lengths, such as 24-50?

Will this cause vignetting on the Fuji 23mm 1.4?
Typically, lens hoods such as these will cause vignetting on wide angle lenses that are wider than 28mm. However, this hood will not cause vignetting on the Fuji 23mm 1.4 if you match up the shallowest depth of the hood to that of the original Fuji hood included with the 23mm lens.

Yes that hood will screw in to the filter threads of the lens. It is for a normal to long lens so it should not vignette on that lens.The hood is approximately 1.2 inches long.
