Why 80-Ohm Headphones?
Previously available in only 250- and 32-ohm versions, these 80-ohm editions are an ideal choice for professionals or enthusiasts seeking versatility. Capable of delivering top-notch audio from high-powered amps and DACs while also being easily driven by mobile devices, 80 ohms offer the best of both worlds. Advantages include:

  • Super sound quality, especially when paired with a dedicated headphone amp
  • A wider soundstage with more precise imaging
  • High scalability, with the ability to improve sound quality when a better audio source or amp is used
Top-Notch Impulse Response
The headphones are designed for critical music and sound monitoring, providing a perfectly neutral listening environment with exceptional isolation and top-notch impulse response. High frequencies are translated into an analytical and differentiated sound. Ultralow bass sounds are defined and reproduced crisply.
Refined Construction
  • Breathable velour: The soft velour earpads offer breathability, for a high level of comfort and long-lasting durability.
  • Flexible temple construction: The robust spring steel hoop gives the headphones a secure fit.
  • Lightweight construction: At a mere 13.2 oz including the cable, the headphones are surprisingly light and yet sturdy, so nothing stands in the way of long studio sessions.

Beyerdynamic DT-770PRO Reviews

Good Studio phones

I bought these to replace my aging AKG-240s which were starting to hurt after some hours or use. Seeing quite a few reviews and articles convinced me these would be a suitable replacement, so I got them. The package is quite complete: these come with a small sack to store them in, an adapter for use with 1/4" jacks, and a basic how to use pamphlet. After trying them and using them for a while I find that they are a bit stiff: it take a big of a tug to adjust them, and they feel a bit tight on my head. The felt on the earpieces helps to keep external sounds out, which is of course very useful especially when tracking vocals. They do not feel quite as soft and cushy on the ears as phones such as Sony WH-1000s have ; they have a somewhat firmer feel, but not uncomfortable, and this does keep extraneous sounds out. The sound seems to be quite accurate and neutral, as opposed to some that unrealistically bump the bass or in other ways try make the sound more pleasing, if less representative of what it really sounds like. The sound here is bright but not piercing highs, and clear but not boosted lows. Their claimed frequency response is very wide, from very low to well beyond normal human hearing, giving these a sense that you are hearing everything you should as it actually sounds. My only nitpick is that the cord is not detachable; while I know that manufacturers often do this so you don't lose the cord, in a crowded studio room it can be useful to be able to detach the cord. If I lost these, frankly I would do some research to see if there were anything better at the price, but if not I would definitely get these again.

Good, Comfortable, Durable Headphones with Great Sound

I needed a comfortable pair of headphones for studio work, and some research narrowed my search down to the DT 770 Pro. My initial search was for 'drummers' headphones' and the DT 770 Pro was in the results consistently. After using a set for almost 5 years, I can say they are very durable, they sound great, and while drumming, I can have them on in the studio for long stretches of time without thinking I can't WAIT to get these off my head. I really like the DT 770 Pro headphones and recommend them to anyone looking for a really good, great sounding, durable, affordable set of headphones; just remember that a headphone amp is a requirement if you want these to sound their best.
