The DriveRack 481 from dbx is a loudspeaker management system that includes all of the functionality of the 480 main unit, but without front-panel control. The unit can be utilized as a slave unit, or in situations where tamper-proof operation is required, and like the 480, can be set-up for virtually every aspect of loudspeaker management and equalization.
The single rack-space, four-input, eight-output, four-channel unit includes comprehensive processing on every channel's input and output, including graphic or parametric equalization, crossovers, speaker delays and dbx dynamic processing. Dedicated LED ladders are provided for every input and output. Euroblock connectors are available on both inputs and outputs.
Programming and control over the unit is achieved via the included Windows based software. Up to one-hundred units within the DriveRack series can be connected and controlled on a single network, if required. Dual, real-time analyzers can be run on channels three and four, utilizing optional RTA microphones. Phantom power is not provided and needs to be obtained elsewhere.
By including every form of processing necessary to drive the signal from a mixer to a power amplifier, the DriveRack 481 allows the engineer to eliminate all other processing devices that were previously required in large audio systems. Aside from the Euroblock connectors, the unit provides both DB-9 and RJ-45 connectors for receiving and passing on information to other units on a network.
