Yankee RCU-400 reviews

Reel & Can for a 400' Roll of 8mm Film is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from It is unlikely that I would buy this again On the plus side it is inexpensive. On the minus side: being plastic the sides are somewhat wavey and narrower in places making it tight for the film to enter. Also, the plastic thingy that converts the spindle hole from super 8 to regular 8 does not stay in place (aggravatingly). Lastly, It did not hold all 400 feet of film that I transferred to it from one of my older-metal 400 ft reels, a small amount kept falling off the top. All that being said, however, I did give it two stars because it is better than nothing and you get what you pay for (minus the freight.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reel & Can for a 400' Roll of 8mm Film This product fit my needs perfectly. I didn't know I could purchase this new and thought I would have to buy a used and rusted one. As usual B&H did not fail me and Yankee provided a great product. Thanks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's nice you can still find this product Works with either 8mm or Super 8 film. It has an insert to make the Super 8 sprocket hole fit a standard 8mm sprocket. The only problem is that the insert doesn't stay in place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from just what i needed used these reels to slice together our family films ,some of which are over 60 years old. neede abouut 28 reels for the job and was able to get them all fairly fast.only prob i had was the adapter for the smaller spindle on my 8mm projector. the adapter kept coming off.had to use a pin to keep it on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For home movie editing If you are splicing together those short 25 foot rolls of home movie film (before having them digitized) you need some 400 foot reels. These are OK, and may be the only ones made these days. they are plastic, and not as elegant as the old metal reels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good service and product everything with this company was great. The only mistake was on my part I should have gotten 200 foot reels instead of 400. the 400 do not fit on the projector. oh well I will be ordering some 200 inch ones soon. Thank you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adequate. These work. Thin plastic. The center spacer has a tendency to fall out. Still, with few options, this is the cheapest choice. If you're looking for a higher quality reel, albeit much more expensive, try the Gepe reels.
