Key Features
- For Mounting Camera on Scope's Exterior
- Includes Quick Release Assembly
- Made in the USA
The JMI Telescopes Piggyback Camera Mount allows you to attach any camera to the outside of your telescope. This can be done with altazimuth-mount scopes for shorter exposures of up to about 7 minutes, but for sharp pictures free of star drift that go beyond that time you'll need a properly aligned equatorial-mount telescope.
More DetailsThis version is a universal attachment for most 8-11" diameter Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube assemblies, with a quick release function. A small, unobtrusive portion of the piggyback will attach to screws already present upon the rear of the optical tube, and the upper portion of the piggyback bracket will attach to this quick release base with a single captive thumb screw. This allows the optical tube to keep its original profile, which can be important when you've already fitted a custom case to it.
