From Audix, the ADX20I is a miniature condenser microphone designed for capturing instruments. The microphone's pre-polarized condenser element reproduces sound that is more than suitable for capturing brass, woodwinds, percussion and more. The wide 40Hz to 20kHz frequency response accurately reproduces audio in pristine detail without noise and distortion. The ADX20's low profile is ideal while mounted on instrument on stage or in studio. The ADX20 includes a shock mounted gooseneck and integral clamp for sturdy instrument mounting and flexible positioning.

Audix ADX20 Reviews
Very nice product
I would buy this product again
Very Natural Sounding Microphone!
I originally bought the ADX-20 microphone for use as a lapel microphone for use with an AKG wireless system. In this use it was only mediocre. (In this application we did not use the manufacturers Phantom Power adapter. This might explain the mediocre performance.) Recently we replaced our old wireless system and tried using this microphone (with the Phantom Power Adapter) to mic. an entire drum set. This microphone is the most natural sounding microphone I've tried for this application. Our drums are in a corner with Plexiglas shield and a sound absorbing roof above. This microphone very naturally reproduces the drums high frequency detail lost from enclosing it. It does taper down in the low end. However it definitely picks up the low end of the Kick drum, it is just repressed a bit. To supplement we added a microphone in the kick drum. This single microphone overhead allows us to hear the drums very naturally and very well. Audix told me the older ADX-20, ADX-20i & ADX-40 are identical. Other Microphones I've tried and did not like as much for my overhead drum microphone: Audix f15, AKG C4000B, Berhinger ECM8000.
