The BCJ-XP-TRC 75 Ohm to 110 Ohm Digital Audio Impedance Transformer from Canare is a transformer that passively converts 75Ω BNC coaxial cable to 110Ω/XLR3 standard AES/EBU digital audio signals. This solution is ideal for use in post-production suites, DAT routing, recording studios, and digital audio tie lines. It also permits longer cable runs in comparison with twisted pair 110Ω and additionally provides excellent rejection against hum and noise.

Are these adapters directional? Or does signal get converted both ways?
The Canare BCJ-XP-TRC Digital Audio Impedance Transformer is used to passively convert 75 ohm BNC coaxial cable to 110 ohm/XLR3 standard AES/EBU digital audio signal. The input is a BNC female receptacle (75 ohm) and the output is an XLR 3-pin male connector (110 ohm). It is a directional adapter.

question
Is this electrically the same as the Canare BCJ-XJ-TRC 110 only with the xlr-m connector? Could this be used with an xlr f-f gender reverser to go from xlr 110 ohms to coax 75 ohms?
My first guess would be yes. Have never tried it and I'm not in a position to test it at the moment.
