Excellent transformer

We use a number of these to connect balanced AES feeds to unbalanced to feed an AES-to-Dante converter. What's especially nice about the Canare is that it is as slim as an ordinary XLR plug, so it fits with even closely spaced chassis mount connectors -- some cube-shaped transformers are too wide.

Awesome addition enabling 110ohm capability to any device

My friend tried this product and was amazed of its performance. I was spending multiple hundreds of dollars on cables and still unable to get the performance I was looking for. He recommended to give it a try and so I made this purchase. Little about my connections: My digital Transporter does not have AES/EBU output while the DAC has Input. So I used RCA to BNC adapter at source end, BNC coaxial cable for transport and this device connected to DAC's AES/EBU input. I was surprised of the improvements it has brought in that not even top notch so called musical digital cables couldn't bring in. The improvement is immediate over using direct coaxial connection. Very clear vocals, expanded soundstage, detailed and smooth sound with no digital harshness and overall resolution is unbelievable at its price. Use this with a good RG-59B/U coaxial cable (I am using one from Belden 8263 terminated by Tektronics for industrial use) and you will believe all that I experienced. If not anyways B&H awesome support/return policy is there to help, which trust me you will not need with this purchase. Construction is solid. I was using it for just under a month while my friend has been using it for over a month. We connected/disconnected multiple time as well as transported it in pocket to try on different systems. So far it lived our expectation, not experienced any issue or problem with performance. I constantly change gear and cables, however, this will be a keep forever item.

Are these adapters directional? Or does signal get converted both ways?

question

Is this electrically the same as the Canare BCJ-XJ-TRC 110 only with the xlr-m connector? Could this be used with an xlr f-f gender reverser to go from xlr 110 ohms to coax 75 ohms?
Asked by: Neil R.
My first guess would be yes. Have never tried it and I'm not in a position to test it at the moment.
