The TruTraps Genesis System from Auralex, combines broadband absorption with quadratic diffusion to provide all the tools needed to effectively treat a room for broadband absorption and increased low frequency control. One or more systems can be installed depending on the size of the room and to what degree acoustic control is required.
The system functions on the principle of utilizing an air gap behind a passive absorber. To that end the kit contains four Studiofoam TruPanels that can be mounted to a flat wall and when using the included 3" TruSpacers to offset the panels, the system can provide a 50% increase in absorption at 125Hz and even more when the TruPanels are placed diagonally in corners.
The four Q'Fusors diffuser panels can be mounted to the front of the TruPanels for a combined coverage of 32 ft2, or mounted directly on the wall for an additional 14 ft2 of coverage. The Q'Fusors expand the sweet spot while the TruPanels continue to trap low to mid frequencies.
