Photoflex Speed Ring for Novatron Overview

This Photoflex 900 Series Speed Ring for Novatron attaches to the front of a Novatron Standard (with fixed reflector) 2100C, 2140C, 2105C, 2120C, 2110C flash head, and allows mounting of a Photoflex rectangular, strip, or octagonal softbox.

It is a heat-resistant cast aluminum ring and smooth Teflon rotating system for easy positioning.

The included heavy duty stand bracket and stud removes the weight of the softbox from the flash head, and re-adjusts the center of gravity over the light stand for greater stability.

I was in need to find a ring to use with my Chimera light boxes. B&H came to my rescue and suggested I use the Photoflex Speed Ring!! Thank you as I can now begin my photo project, thanks!! Michael

Superior replacement part!

I have an old soft box diffuser by Photoflex (20+years old) and had misplaced the original speed ring connector for the attachment to my Novatron strobes. The older unit was a glass filled fiber reinforced plastic unit which was flimsy in my opinion. This unit made of cast aluminum can easily handle the flex stress imposed by the stiff fiberglass tent rods for the soft box dome support. The machined brass stud makes mounting the Novatron strobe heads onto the speed ring an effortless task. Since the aluminum speed ring is physically stronger than the plastic unit I can leave the soft box set up and not worry about the ring developing stress cracks from rod tension holding the dome. Speeds my setup process considerably in the studio.

No, the Photoflex Speed Ring Octo Connector for Novatron 2100C, 2140C, 2105C, 2120C, 2110C (B&H # PHSR900N) cannot be converted for use on a Bowens mount.
