I can't help but think that B&H is offering these bags at a clearance price. As with all Mackie accessory bags and soft cases, this item is exceptionally well-made and has all the right extra compartments. It is easily the equal of the equivalent SKB bag, but at a considerably lower price point. The 1604VLZ mixer slides into the main compartment perfectly. Huzzah!
Bought the 1604 mixer used with a road case that increased the weight by 50 lbs +. That went to one gig and after that the mixer rode on the front seat. Went online looking for alternatives and found this. It's just what the doctor ordered. Good fit, lots of padding and NO additional weight to speak of. Shoulder strap and handles are solid and strong. Can you throw it into the back of a van and expect good results? Of course not. But if you're someone who makes their gear last, this will do the job.
