7-Port High Speed USB 2.0 Mini Hub is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it is supposed to The product works great. I connected the power supply and it was up and running. I can't say much about the speed as I have no way to put numbers to it. But it is ok. As with most hubs, definitely not the same as connecting to a port on the computer. Construction: The only real issue is that it is too light to have all the ports connected and stand in the upright position or resist being dragged by the weight of the cables. So if you want to get it for its space saving small footprint in the upright position, you probably want to glue it down or something. It comes with some kind of a rubber attachment to keep the hub standing but it really is a joke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed! I ran out of ports on my computer so I really needed this product. It was extemely easy to set up. You do need an electrical outlet to plug it into in order to make it work. Once I got everything connected, when I turned off my computer, the Spyder Pro 3 blue light stayed lit so I unplugged that from the hub and directly into the computer. Now everything is fine. I didn't realize it came with its own USB cable. If I did, I wouldn't have bought one to go with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A hub is a hub, however... I added this hub to my system and it performs flawlessly. What can I say, it does exactly what a hub is supposed to do. I agrree with a previous reviewer, the ONLY thing I do not like about it is, that it does NOT stand up when anything is plugged into it. I had to jury rig a strap it keep it in the location I needed it to be and to keep it standing up. The product description did not state, at the time I looked at it, that the USB hub has an external power supply. Needed to rearrange several things to ensure it was protected and kept powered up via an U.P.S.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient Design and Easy Installation Like most USB hubs, this on installed plug-and-play without any drivers needed. This is a powered hub so you benefit from the added ports and speed, but it will consume an additional power outlet. The design of the hub is very thoughtful with ports on the front and the back for both short term and long term connections. (Flash drives versus keyboards.) It can also be mounted laying flat or up on edge as shown in the product pictures. The product is much lighter than I expected; almost feels empty. But I wouldn't hold that against it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Hub, Not-So-Great Design An old Belkin Hub finally stopped working, seems these electronics aren't built to last forever. So ordered the IOGEAR Hub. It works great, as advertised, no issues in that area whatsoever. However, the stand is very weak. You will probably not be able to hook up multiple wires and install it vertically, the plastic stand is flimsy, and any tug of the wires will move the Hub. However, the stand was not a concern for me. I have the Hub flat on a corner of my desk, and so it works great. Nevertheless I was a tad frustrated with the rather misleading picture which gave the impression that the Hub would work in a vertical position. Sure, it might if you got the wires just right, but for most installastions plan on lying it flat. That may sound picky, but I like a clean desktop. I would have awarded five stars if the Hub had a sturdier stand, which should not have been difficult for IOGEAR.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent - powered hub is the way to go My Vista Dell Inspiron came with a USB keyboard and a USB mouse. With only three other USB ports after plugging in my Magic Jack I found myself swapping USB plugs for my periferals (Sony DSC, Terabyte drive and 200GB drive, Pinnacle movie sturio breakout box, Zune Mp3 player, Zen Mp3 Player, etc...) Not to mention that all USB ports are not created equal. some have power to spare, others not so much. I purchased this IOGear 7-port powered USB hub to solve these problems. I unpacked the unit. I love that it comes with a vertical option for less desktop space. I plugged everything into it. I plugged it into my computer and the transformer into the plug-strip. Everything works without a hitch. the hub recognizes new plugin connections like camera and Mp3 players faster than the computer. It is like having a second computer. No hassle, no maintenance, a total relief. the unit is well built and attractive to boot! (no pun intended).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inexpensive, Works great Running Widows 7. Plugged it in and done. Great solution to the tangle of USB cords on my desk. Transmission rate seems very good. I use a Logitech m505 wireless mouse and can plug the receiver into the hub rather than directly into the computer with no loss of responsiveness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected This hub is just what I needed to relieve my (too many USB devices, not enough ports) problem. It works very good, is fast, compact, looks good on my desk, clean layout, 5 ports are on the back for a clean look and 2 ports are on the front at an angle for USB memory sticks or tempoary connection of external devices like; MP3 Players, scaners or portable HD. Easy to manage all the cables (it doesn't look like an Octopus with cables all around the desk). I gave it 5 stars for the clean and elegant design.
