question

Frequency range and frequency response are...unpublished? I'd really appreciate info/ comment about these characteristics - what are the pros/cons, using the Roland CM-30 Cube as studio monitor(s)? Are they flat? & will I need a separate sub?
Asked by: Anonymous
Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not list those specifications. The Roland CM-30 was designed with the traveling musician in mind, and not the studio engineer necessarily, though in a pinch, it can be used for monitoring in the studio. You would be better served with a pair of JBL LSR 305's nonetheless; B&H# JBLSR305. With the use of two monitors, one can have a better stereo image of a stereo mix. The use of a sub is optional and not necessary; though having one is good for reference.

question

can i use this speaker with a turnable vinyl system?
Asked by: Christian G.
Probably not directly. The Roland CM-30 does not have phono inputs. You would need to purchase a separate phono pre-amp to put between the turntable and Roland. This would convert the very weak turntable phono output into a line-level signal that you could plug into the aux inputs on the Roland. The exception would be if your turntable has a built-in phono pre-amp so that it puts out a line-level signal (which I believe would be the case if it has USB outputs), but this would be uncommon.

question

Can this speaker use both 110 volt and 220 volt?
Asked by: settha s.
Do not know--only use it in USA as 110 volt--adaptors are available for such a conversion.

question

Can I play from a smartphone , ipad, and CD player with this ?
Asked by: Anonymous
I have used a MacBookPro headphone/out and it works very well. One needs a cable with the stereo jack for the output and RCA input (red/white) for the CUBE--should work similarly with other devices.
