The ProSys PS-8810 from BSS Audio (distributed by Crown Audio) is a eight-input, ten-output (two main, eight auxiliary) digital signal processor with fixed-path DSP, suitable for large sports stadiums, restaurants, retail spaces, public transportation facilities, or auditoriums and houses of worship.
The unit is programmed using a computer and IQ software for Windows. Since the IQ protocol is utilized by other manufacturers, the PS-8810 can function as part of a larger system, or as the primary interface to the system. A control port is also available for remote hardware control. Infra-red control is also possible.
Each input can be set up for line, microphone, or phantom powered microphone level, and includes a calibrated gain control on the rear-panel. Three-terminal removable barrier block connectors are provided for the microphone/line inputs, along with the main and auxiliary outputs.
Each input is split into two identical paths (post AD conversion), and DSP includes a fader, advanced algorithms for gating, auto-leveling, filtering, compression and auto-mixing. The latter functions include "NOM" (Number of Open Microphones) attenuation, priority ducking and adaptive gating processing.
The main and auxiliary output processes include individually adjustable signal delay and filters, an ambient-leveler and a high performance output limiter for system protection. Thirty-two user configurable presets allow control over all the settings of the unit. An event scheduler allows presets or scenes to be recalled, either once or periodically, based upon an internal, real-time clock.
