Canon Image Stabilized 10x42 Overview

From Manufacturer

Outfitted with their proprietary Vari-Angle prism electronic image stabilization system, the Canon 10x42 L IS WP Image Stabilized Binoculars are an ideal optic for bird and nature watching, marine use, or astronomical use. Their quick-response time and ±0.8° correction angle easily compensates for the common hand-shake that can make viewing through binoculars of this magnification difficult or disorienting. A single-activation button located precisely where the right forefinger naturally rests makes using them easy, and an optional 5-minute activation mode allows you to concentrate on viewing without distractions.

For increased usage, the L IS WP will work as full-featured binoculars when the image stabilization is not being used, even if the batteries are dead or removed. Optically, they are built with ultralow-dispersion (UD) glass elements and matching doublet field-flatteners, with their Super Spectra antireflection coatings to produce bright and clear high-contrast images without distortion across the entire wide field of view. Protecting the optics and electronics is an armored chassis that benefits from ergonomically designed grips, and a standard 1/4"-20 tripod mount socket for an even steadier view. Tethered front and rear lens caps, right-eye dioptric correction, twist-up eyecups, front filter threads, and a wide interpupillary adjustment range rounds out the features of these binoculars that will become your go-to optic for any outdoor activity.

Canon Image Stabilized 10x42 Reviews

Excellent image stabilized binoculars so far.

I just got these Canon 10x42 image stabilized binoculars 1 week ago. Testing them out around my home so far, these seem awesome. Can use these binoculars like regular binoculars, but when pressing the button for image stabilization, wow!, no more handshake in the viewer. The stabilization works great so far. Also, no noise/sound generated, no vibration. I went back & forth about whether to spend the increased money on these image stabilized binoculars, ultimately I pulled the trigger, very pleased so far with the image stabilization. I bought these for an upcoming safari. I think they are going to work great. I understand the optics on these binoculars is high quality.

I've used a number of pair of high quality binoculars over the years, but never one with Image Stabilization. The improvement is startling at first - it's like putting the binoculars on a tripod.
