    Behringer C-2 reviews

C-2 Matched Studio Condenser Microphones is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 40.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from The C-2 for Film Production I bought these after reading about their potential use as a dialogue boompole microphone by a professor of film in New York. As an independent filmmaker, I'm always trying to get the best bang for my (limited) buck. It's fairly easy to find a decent shotgun microphone for not too much money, but it's much harder to find a decent hypercardioid for less than $500. So I took a chance and tried these. And I'm very glad I did. The Behringer C-2 does a creditable job for recording dialogue indoors. After a few weeks of testing it, I'm very pleased with the clean, clear adudio I'm capturing with the C-2. This is good quality for very little cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally concur with added praise Read all comments and went for it. Had small lingering worry about performance recording a live rock band because I hadn't read read any reviews that covered that. However, last night I used them to record my R&R 3 piece playing in a Baltimore bowling alley and with the mics placed high and fairly close, front and center on the provided mount ( \__/ ), they did a very nice job, clean and accurate enough for demo and enjoyable later listening. Lows, mids and high all captured and reasonably represented. I am using an ART USB Dual Pre and a decrepit linux notebook running Audacity, if your a cheapskate like me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great mic for the money! For the money, I'm pretty sure this mic cannot be beat! It looks sharp, is very well built, and produces amazing sound for the price. The response curve is fairly flat, and tends to give a nice warmth to acoustic instruments (especially guitars). There's a small amount of noise in the signal, but it's only noticeable when compared to mics that cost 8-10 times as much. The stereo bar and included mounts alone are worth the cost of this package! Behringer really found a golden balance of price and quality with these mics. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for decent quality mics at an amazing price!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unbeatable value Well, there's probably a few better sounding microphones out there. For this price however it's a no-brainer. If you are about to record a band in the home studio and have a few mikes, but need some more for that background guitar or extra drums, these are great. Their best feature is actually the tightly focused polar pattern. I recorded some guitar/ vocal tracks and the vocals had almost no bleed to the gutar track. The sound lacks a bit of dynamics. Some tube pre-amp emulation in the recording program adds extra juice, enough for typical background tracks. The metal construction quality is excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Mics, Amazing Price. These mics are really nice and you cant beat the price. In the package you get a plastic case with foam inserts to keep your mics safe. The package also comes with spit gaurds and an xy mount to put on a mic stand. With this product I use it to record acoustic guitar and ukulele. I am not a mic expert but I do know sound from mixing music regularly. After recording I played back the sound on some studio monitors and it was almost identical to hearing the actual instrument being played by it self. I am not sure of the frequency range on these mics but for acoustic instruments they work great!.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice beginner's kit, good sound for the price I'm by no means an expert, but I've been using a Zoom H4 to record live wind/brass ensemble concerts for the past three years and decided to try moving to external mics for greater flexibility in setup for the recording, and this kit was the right price. In terms of sound capture they seem to be on par with the H4's built-in set; at least I didn't notice any obvious degradation based on my initialtesting. They do not seem quite as sensitive, however, requiring higher levels to get the same kind of capture. I may or may not determine that a preamp is needed. It's a nice kit to include the stereo bar and the mic holders. Definitely a good value proposition for someone who is looking to get their feet wet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Bang For Buck Great addition to my home studio. So far I've only used these guys for a stereo spread on a Young Chang U-212 piano. Needless to say, I was impressed with the quality of sound that comes out of these little guys. I plan on testing them as overheads for drums too, yet I have not tested them out yet for that. Cons: * Wish the included stereo bar used a larger/standard thread size because now I need an adapter to make it work with my mic stands. Pros: * Very affordable * Good bang for buck / sound quality for price range

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again I am a home studio owner. I record myself and my band. Which means recording drums vocals and guitar. I use this mic for all three. They work well as overheads. They pick up everything and the sound is very clear. These mic's especially shine when used for acoustic guitar. The roll off really comes in handy for this. Everything is clear but theres not too much high end. It picks up everything and gives you an accurate reproduction of the sound you hear. It gives vocals a cool sound as well being stereo and all. It gives them a real fullness. Overall for what your paying this product goes above and beyond. Everything that is included is made very well. I expect it to last. Only issue with this product is that the stereo bar doesn't fit on a normal mic stand. You would need an adapter of some sort.
